HO Scale Division

ATTENTION!! HO Division Members!

We are currently working on the permanent layout. We plan to use DCC and/or DC for the control on this layout when it is completed and are building and wiring with that in mind.

Please join us if possible. There is a lot of work to be done and we can use your help. We also need to work on the modules prior to the September Dried Plum Festival.

Contact the RRMRC for more details.

In 1997 club members began building a HO layout for the children at the Shriner's Hospital in Sacramento. The project was finished in 1998 and the keys to operate the layout turned over to the hospital staff. There are four separate levels to allow up to four children to run trains at the same time. The top level depicts the San Franciso Bay and skyline. Members of the club visit the hospital periodically to check on the layout and perform maintenance to keep the trains running.

The HO division is still actively involved in modular railroading. The R.R.M.R.C. holds its own club show in Roseville each winter and is also a co-founding participant of the International Railfair, held in November. The HO division actively promotes model railroading by participating with other clubs at their shows. The club owns and maintains the four corner and yard modules. Club members build and maintain their own modules. Each module is required to have two main lines and one local line. The club currently has eleven 6 foot and one 8 foot member modules available for setting up at shows. The standard layout uses nine modules to make a 16 by 32-foot layout.
